Final Round of Colorado State Ram Intercollegiate Snowed Out
Sept. 28, 1999 LARAMIE, Wyo. - The final round of the Colorado State Ram Intercollegiate was snowed out at the Fort Collins Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo., on Tuesday. That meant the scores at the end of the second round became the final scores for the tournament. The Wyoming Cowboys finished in a tie for ninth place out of 15 teams, and UW junior David Hearn tied for seventh place. Hearn finished only four shots out of the lead. He posted a two-over par total of 142 through 36 holes. The individual medalists were Tobias Forsgren of Colorado and Thomas Pye of Texas-Arlington at two-under par 138. Colorado won the team title at 561. The Cowboys tied with Alabama for ninth at 591. After Hearn's 142, the other four Cowboys were bunched together. Mike Urbatchka and Kevin Kayden tied for 42nd at nine-over 149. Reid Lende posted a two-round total of 151, 11 over, to tie for 52nd and Jacob Hunter shot a 12-over par 152 for 56th place. "David (Hearn), did a good job of adjusting to the greens and made some nice putts," said UW men's golf coach Roger Prenzlow. "All the guys played fine tee to green, but other than David, our other four players didn't make a lot of putts. "We were definitely looking forward to playing the final round on Tuesday, to make up some ground, but the conditions wouldn't let the tournament continue." The tournament was played at the Fort Collins Country Club course which measured 6,924 yards and played to a par of 71 Here are the final scores from the Colorado State Ram Intercollegiate.
