2009-10: In his third year with the program, Tyler Davis is one of three Cowboys who will be competing for the starting role at 157 pounds. He is a long, lanky wrestler and can be a difficult match-up. Davis gained some key experience last season by traveling and starting five duals, as well as wrestling 32 tournament matches. This past summer he competed in the FILA Junior World Team Trials.

2008-09: Davis had a solid redshirt freshman year, going 21-16 overall, 2-3 in duals. He recorded eight major decisions, three pins and one tech. fall. His best tournament finishes were third at the Cowboy Open and fourth at the Omaha Open. Davis won eight straight matches at one point during the year. He was named to the WWC Coaches' Honor Roll for his academic efforts.

2007-08: Davis redshirted. He had an overall record of 16-7 while wrestling unattached, with three pins and four major decisions. Tyler won the Utah Valley Open, placed fourth at the FILA Greco-Roman National Championships and placed seventh at the University Greco-Roman National Championships.

High School: Davis was a three-time all-conference performer, two-time state placer and recorded one state title in Florida. He was a double Junior Nationals All-American, both in Freestyle and Greco-Roman, and was a Florida State Champion while at Oviedo High School. The Oviedo wrestling team won four consecutive state championships while he was there and he carried a 3.7 GPA.

Personal: Born July 21, 1989 in Kissimmee, Fla. He is the son of Jaye Cook and Shaun Davis. Tyler has one sister, Sarah, and his father Shaun is a bull rider. He is a finance major at UW.
