2010-11: Eitzen started the year on the shelf with a knee injury, but did return to wrestle in two matches at the Virginia Duals in early January. He lost matches to Lehigh's Frank Cagnina and Buffalo's Kevin Smith at 133 pounds. In the classroom, he was named to the WWC Coaches' Honor Roll.

2009-10: Eitzen used his redshirt season and got better as the year progressed. He competed unattached and had a record of 14-7, with four falls. Jake placed second at the UNK Loper Open as well as the Utah Valley Open, and third at the UNC Open.

High School: Eitzen is a Colorado state champion from Estes Park High School. Including his state title as a junior, he placed all four times at the state tournament, runner-up as a freshman, third as a senior and sixth as a sophomore. His record as a senior was 44-2 and he ended high school with a Colorado state record for most career wins, 162. Eitzen was the 2008 Colorado State Freestyle and Greco-Roman champion. A good student, he was named Academic All-State as a junior and senior, as well as an NHSGA Academic All-American. Eitzen was also a three-year letterwinner on the Estes Park H.S. football team. He chose to attend UW over several other colleges, including Oregon State.

Personal: Jacob Michael Eitzen was born on June 5, 1991 in Overland Park, Kan. His father is Mike, mother is Kris and he has one younger brother, Zach. Mike Eitzen played baseball and rugby at the University of Wyoming in the mid-80's. Jake is a marketing major at UW.
