Hintz earned six pins and one major decision while going 2-2 against the WWC. Hintz started the season by finishing third at the Cowboy Open with a 4-1 showing, but missed placing at the Kaufman-Brand Open. He rebounded with a second-place finish at the UNK Loper Open thanks to a 4-1 record with three pins. He lost his next two matches, before ending his season with a 2-1 showing at the Virginia Duals. 2009-10: Hintz started one dual for Wyoming at 174 pounds and had an overall record of 16-9, with two pins and three major decisions. He placed first at the Northwest Wyoming Open to start the year. Other notable tournament finishes came when he placed third at the UNK Loper Open, as well as third at the Utah Valley Open. 2008-09: As a redshirt freshman, Hintz showed his versatility by wrestling for the Cowboys at three weight classes: 165, 174 and 184 pounds. He competed in four dual matches, going 3-1, including a good win at 165 against WWC foe Northern Colorado, which helped the team in a close dual. His overall record was 13-9 and he had one decision by fall. 2007-08: Hintz made the most of his redshirt year, recording a 16-9 record in open matches, including three pins and two major decisions at 157 pounds. He won the Cowboy Open Amateur Division and placed second at the Utah Valley Open. Dallas was fourth at the FILA Greco-Roman National Championships. High School: Hintz was a three-time state runner-up and four-time Washington state placer at Ephrata High School. He was a three-time regional champion and four-time district champion. Hintz was selected team captain twice and lettered all four years. He was named to the honor roll all four years of high school. Personal: Born May 11, 1989 in Moses Lake, Wash.
