2010-11: O'Farrell went 4-12 overall and 1-6 in duals while wrestling at 197 pounds and heavyweight during the 2010-11 season. He earned two major decisions.

O'Farrell wrestled at 197 for the Cowboy Open and Kaufman-Brand Open to start the season, but filled the heavyweight spot for the start of the dual season. After the season, he was named to the WWC All-Academic Team and earned the Mountain West Conference's Scholar-Athlete Award.

2009-10: O'Farrell missed much of his sophomore season after suffering a foot injury in December. In the three open events he competed in prior to that injury, Joe was 8-5 at 197 pounds with two pins and three major decisions. He placed third at the Northern Colorado Open.

For maintaining his strong academics, O'Farrell was named a Scholar-Athlete by the Mountain West Conference, since UW is a member institution in other sports, and he was listed on the Western Wrestling Conference Coaches' Honor Roll for the second straight year.

2008-09: During his redshirt freshman season, O'Farrell had an overall record of 6-10 while competing in tournaments at 184 pounds. He recorded three wins by fall and one major decision.

A very good student, O'Farrell was named to the WWC Coaches' Honor Roll and received the Mountain West Conference's Scholar-Athlete Award.

2007-08: Similar to nine of his teammates, O'Farrell used his redshirt year in `07-08. He wrestled open tournaments at 184 pounds and had a 1-6 record.

High School: O'Farrell was a four-time letter winner in wrestling and football. He was a three-time All-Conference selection and recorded a 36-5 record his senior year as the state runner-up. O'Farrell also excelled in the classroom. He was a three-time Academic All-State selection, spent three years on the honor roll and two years in the National Honors Society. He was an FBLA National Qualifier and Student Council President his senior year.

Personal: Born June 13, 1989 in Denver, Colo. He is the son of Cecil and Vince O'Farrell. He has one sister, Kathleen, and two brothers, Rory and Liam. O'Farrell is a finance major at UW.
