Pokes shine in front of the home crowd

2011-12: As you might expect, the young O'Leary struggled with consistency early on, but found a groove later in the season, placing in his last three tournaments.

His best finish of the season came at the FHSU-Bob Smith Open. O'Leary was second in that event with four wins, three by fall. He placed third at the UNK Loper Open and fifth in the Rocky Mountain Open. He went 15-10 overall, with five pins, two technical falls and three major decisions.

He was named as one of two Outstanding Academic Freshmen by the UW coaching staff.

High School: O'Leary was a four-year letter winner in wrestling at Francis Howell High School, and was a three-time Missouri state tournament qualifier. He was second in 2010, and third in 2009. He won his conference tournament from 2009-10. He received Academic All-Conference honors from 2008-11, and also was on the honor roll all four years of high school.

Personal: O'Leary was born to Dan and Marshell O'Leary in Florrissant, Mo. He has an older sister, Mandy. He is studying bioengineering and wants to pursue a career in the medical field. He also received interest from Bucknell, Appalachian State and Chattanooga.
