Alex Rieder Class: Junior Hometown: Paonia, Colo. High School: Paonia Event: 165 pounds

2008-09: Alex Rieder is one of only eight upperclassmen on the Cowboy roster and gives the team experience and depth at 165 pounds. He is one of four Colorado wrestlers on the squad.

2007-08: As a sophomore, Rieder moved up a weight class and had a record of 1-4 at 165 pounds.

2006-07: In his second year, Rieder saw time at the 157 pound division and recorded a 4-13 overall record with two pins and one technical fall.

2005-06: Rieder was 4-12 overall for the `Pokes and recorded three pins. He redshirted.

High School: Rieder was a Colorado All-State wrestler from Paonia High School his senior year and a three-time All-Conference selection. He was a four-time letterwinner in both wrestling and track and field, and a three-time letterwinner in football. Rieder was also selected as team captain all four years of high school in wrestling.

Personal: Born December 2, 1986 in Greeley, Colo. He is the son of Suzanne Rieder. Alex is majoring in agricultural communications at UW.
