2009-10: Brock Smith is part of a good situation for the Cowboy team at 174 pounds. He is one of three guys, Hintz and Rieder the others, who are all very equal and any of which could be called upon to start. With a long body frame, Smith is natural at the 174 weight class, but could also go down to 165 if needed. He continues to improve with experience.

2008-09: Smith transfered to UW as a redshirt freshman from Chadron State College in Nebraska and wrestled for the Cowboys at 157 and 174 pounds. He quickly worked his way into contention for mat time and posted a 19-7 overall record. Smith had three wins by major decision, two pins and one technical fall. He started the Stanford dual for Wyoming at 157 pounds and picked up a key win by fall in the team dual win.

2007-08: Smith was a member of the Chadron State College wrestling team and used his redshirt season.

High School: Smith attended Gering High School and was a three-time Nebraska state champion. He was named Outstanding Wrestler at the state tournament twice, the Outstanding Senior Wrestler for Nebraska and honored as the Region Wrestler of the Year three times. Smith set multiple records, among them was the state all-class take-down mark, as well as the single season take-down record of 320. He was a four-year letterwinner.

Personal: Brock was born in Scottsbluff, Neb. on July, 12, 1988. He is one of three children of Randy and Janna Smith. Both his brother Brandon and cousin, Jarred Berger, wrestled in college. Brock is a social sciences major at UW.
