2008-09: Clay Sondgeroth is in the mix at 157 pounds for the Cowboys. With two years of training and some dual experience under his belt, he should help the team. He is one of only two sophomores on the team and one of 10 Cowboys who are Wyoming state products. 2007-08: In his second year on the team, Sondgeroth had a 6-11 record, wrestled in two duals and earned three major decisions at 149 pounds. 2006-07: Sondgeroth redshirted in `06-'07. In his open wrestling matches he went 5-10. High School: Sondgeroth had a successful high school career in which he was All-State three years, a two-time State Champion, a two-time Regional Champion and co-captain of the wrestling team his senior year. He had a career record of 169-26. His team won the State Championship in 04' and 06' and was a regional champion all four years. Sondgeroth helped his team set a new state record with the most team points in a season and a new national record for most points his senior year. He was a National Honor Society Member his junior and senior seasons. Personal: Born March 24, 1988 in Jackson, Wyo. He is the son of Jim and Sheila Sondgeroth. Has one brother, Justin. His major at UW is rangeland ecology and watershed management. |
