LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Wyoming split ten matches with Air Force but came up short in a 19-16 loss to the Falcons in Colorado Springs. The Cowboys jumped out to a 6-0 lead, but were unable to maintain the lead against their MWC rivals.

The dual started at 149 pounds where Mark Hamrick defeated Adam Brown 15-9, giving Wyoming a 3-0 lead. Freshman Levi Prevost then defeated Timothy Huxel 7-3 for a 6-0 UW lead. Air Force would rebound to win the next three matches, including one pin, to lead 12-6 after five matches. Wyoming would win three of the final five matches but were unable to overcome the six-point deficit.

With the loss Wyoming is now 6-5 on the season with three duals remaining. The next action for the Pokes is Wednesday against Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo.
