To Become A Part of the UW Spirit Program
For the 2012-2013 year, the UW Spirit Program will consist of two Cheer Teams (an All-Girl Cheer Team and a Co-Ed Cheer Team) as well as the UW Mascot, Pistol Pete.
There are 3 ways to become a part of the 2012-2013 UW Spirit Squad:
- TRYOUT
**NEW 2012 CHEER TEAM TRYOUT DATES**
Cheer Teams - May 11, 12, 2012 in Laramie, WY
Mascot Team - August 2012 in Laramie, WY (exact date TBA)
*All candidates must tryout in person.
*Video applications are NOT accepted.
*Both male and female athletes are encouraged to tryout.
*Current team members must tryout like all other candidates.
- BE RECRUITED - The recruiting period for the 2012-13 season has passed. If you are interested in starting the recruiting process for the 2013-14 season, please check back in late summer of 2012.
- WALK ON - In August, prior to the start of school, new members may be named by the Head Coach if there are any positions that have not been filled.
PRE-TRYOUT CLINICS
A pre-tryout clinic was held in January 2012. There will not be another prior to the 2012-13 tryouts.
