Conklin, who is in her second season, joined the Cowgirl coaching staff after spending a year as the varsity girls basketball coach and a Fit for Life Instructor at Trinity High School in River Forest, Illinois.

She began her college basketball career as a student-athlete at the University of Tennessee for head coach Pat Summit. A four-year letterwinner for the Lady Vols, she was a member of a team that won back to back NCAA Championships in 1995-96 and 1996-97, along with the team that was the NCAA National Champion runner up in 1994-95. A two-year starter during her career, she was also a team captain for her senior season. A three-time Academic All-SEC selection, she earned her bachelor's degree in recreation and leisure studies in 1997 from Tennessee. Following her college career, she was the 23rd overall draft pick in the 1997 ABL Draft for the Atlanta Glory. She played for the Glory for the 1997-98 season.

Conklin's professional coaching career begin at UNC-Asheville as an assistant coach from 1998-2002. While there, she was the recruiting coordinator for the Bulldogs. During that time, she was also involved in the day to day operations including scouting, academics and the budget. She then moved on to Trinity High School as the girls' basketball coach, where she had been for a year.

"We are excited to have Abby join the Wyoming program," said Legerski. "She brings a wealth of experience with her coaching and playing career, and will be a great addition to our staff."
