Niecee Madrigal enters her first season as a graduate assistant with the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball program. Madrigal comes to Wyoming after a four-year basketball career at Concordia University in Portland, Ore. As a member of the Cavaliers, she earned First Team All-Cascade Conference honors for the second year in a row after averaging 12.7 points and four assists her senior season. She was also named to the Third Team All-American (NAIA), the Lutheran Brotherhood All-American Team and a Scholar-Athlete during her career at Concordia. During the 2000-2001 basketball season, she was selected Western Baptist Tournament MVP, and the Cal Lutheran Tournament MVP. In just her first season at Concordia University, she earned the Cascade Conference Freshman of the Year title. The daughter of Cindy and Mike Madrigal of Oxnard, Calif., she recently graduated with her degree in elementary education from Concordia University and is currently pursuing her masters degree in health and kinesiology. Madrigal is engaged to marry Steve Nelson on July 19, 2003.
