UW This Season: One of several returning letterwinners to this year's squad...looks to return to her old form, after missing the first part of last season with a back injury...an excellent defender, she should make a definite impact on the court during the upcoming season.

Redshirt Junior (2001-02): Played in the first game of her career as a Cowgirl against Idaho State (1/5/02)...in 13 minutes of play, she recorded four points, four boards, two steals and one assist...played in 15 games this season, while averaging 2.3 points and 2.2 boards per game...shot 42% (14-33) from the field and a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe...finished with 11 assists and eight steals...started in the first game of her Cowgirl career against Brigham Young (1/12/02)...had a season and career high ten points, along with five rebounds two assists and two steals against San Diego State (1/19/02)...was out the first part of the season with a back injury...was named pre-season Newcomer of the Year in the Mountain West Conference...a first time Academic All-MWC selection.

Junior (2000-01): Under NCAA transfer rules, she sat out the season after transferring from Oregon State.

Oregon State: A two-year starter at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore...started in 50 of 57 games in those two years...averaged 6.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists her sophomore year, and 6.3 points, 3.3 rebounds as a true freshman...an excellent shooter, she led the Beavers in three-point field goals (11-24, .458) and free throw shooting (53-64, .828), her sophomore year.

High School: At Crater High School in Central Point, Ore., she was a First Team All-State and a two-time All-Conference selection...helped her team a 24-3 record and the 4A state championship runner up spot as a senior...coached in high school by David Heard.

Personal: Born August 20, 1979 in Lynnwood, Wash...one of seven children of Bart and Ilene Wiersma...her twin sister Cherrith is also a member of the Cowgirl squad...selected Wyoming over several schools including New Mexico, Valparaiso, Utah and Gonzaga...majoring in nursing.
