Justyna Podziemska had 19 points and 11 rebounds to help lead No. 18 Wyoming to a 87-39 rout of UNLV on Wednesday night.

Aubrey Vandiver added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Cowgirls (17-1, 5-0 Mountain West). Paula Elum came off the bench to score 11 points.

Podziemska's 3-pointer with 3:52 remaining in the first half capped an 18-4 run that gave Wyoming a 27-9 lead. She hit four more 3-pointers during a 29-7 run early in the second half to put the game out of reach.

The Cowgirls outrebounded UNLV (6-11, 2-2) 52-34 while holding the Lady Rebels to just 21 percent shooting. Wyoming also outscored UNLV 44-8 in bench points and finished with 19 more points off turnovers.

Shamela Hampton led UNLV with 10 points.

Notes/Quotes

"This game was completely unexpected," said UW head coach Joe Legerski. "It was a situation that when you get up by 20 or 25 points, it becomes a great deal easier for everyone to shoot the ball. I thought Justyna was tremendous tonight. To come up with 19 points, 11 rebounds and more importantly 7-10 from the field. We had other people step up tonight. Hanna didn't have a good night offensively, but she did a good job defensively on Sequoia Holmes. I was pleased with the effort from the whole group."

Wyoming shot 28-59 (.475) from the field and 12-26 (.462) from beyond the arc.

UNLV shot 12-58 (.207) from the field and 3-15 (.200) from beyond the arc.

Wyoming will head back out on the road to close out the week as they take on the Colorado State Rams, on Saturday, January 26. The game is set to tip off at 2:00 p.m. in Fort Collins.
