2006-07 (Senior): Camaione showed glimpses this past fall of returning to the form that made her a top player for Wyoming at the start of her college career. With rebuilt confidence she has dropped over five strokes from her stroke average of last year and in her final year as a Cowgirl she could be a wild card to UW's team success. A player who knows how to score low, Michelle is putting her game in perspective and will compete to travel this spring. This past fall she played in four of five tournaments and tied her career-low with a 74 during the final round of the Ram Fall Classic. Her best tournament was the Bronco Fall Invitational where she finished 38th out of 90 individuals. 2005-06 (Junior): Michelle played in seven of 11 events for the Cowgirls last season and shot a low round of 78 at the Ron Moore Women's Classic. She earned her third letter award at UW. 2004-05 (Sophomore): Camaione played in 11 of 12 events for UW and posted a season low round of 75 at the Montana State Lady Bobcat Desert Classic to begin the spring season. She was the Cowgirl's top finisher in that tournament, placing 28th of 103 golfers. 2003-04 (Freshman): Camaione had an outstanding start to her college career as she led Wyoming in stroke average her freshman year. Camaione posted a stroke average of 80.0 for the season, playing in all ten tournaments for the Cowgirls. In four out of ten tournaments, she placed in the top-25, including a Wyoming best 25th at the MWC Championships. Camaione finished 24th out of 107 individuals at the San Diego State Lady Aztec. She placed 12th out of 47 golfers at the Denver Pioneer Invitational, and Camaione recorded the best finish of her young career at the Cal Poly Invitational where she placed eighth out of 49 competitors. Her low round of the year was 74, which she shot on three different occasions. High School: Camaione was a four-year letterwinner at Upland High School in Upland, Calif. Her high school golf team twice captured Central Confernece Championships in 2002 and 2003. Coached in high school by Richard Kim. Camaione also lettered in basketball one season. Personal: Born May 31, 1985, she is the daughter of Mary and James Camaione. She plays golf right-handed, but does everything else left-handed. Camaione is majoring in communications. |
