She averaged 79.7 strokes in 24 rounds of action during the season. Her top performance was a 222 (+6) at the spring's MountainView Collegiate to finish tied for 29th place as UW's second scorer. She fired her career low of 73 (+1) twice during the event. Wood also finished second on the team at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic with a 234 (+18). She totaled eight rounds under 80 during the spring, after shooting just two during the fall.
2010-11 (Freshman): Wood played in six tournaments, three in the spring and three in the fall, for Wyoming during her first season in the program. She carded 18 rounds and averaged 80.6 strokes per round to finish in UW's top four three times. Her low score of the season was a 233 (+17) during the fall at the Portland State/Oregon State Invite, after a season-low 73 (+1) in the third round of the event. Wood's highest individual finish was 29th with a 237 (+21) at the CU/Heather Farr Memorial during the fall. High School: Wood won a letter four years straight in golf, and added two letters in volleyball and basketball while at Salida High. She was all-conference each year, and her team won the Class 4A state championship in her junior and senior year. Wood was named a team captain all four years, and was an honor roll student each year of high school. Personal: Emily was born Oct. 17 in Flagler, Colo., to Chad and Beth Wood. She is studying communications at UW. |
