She averaged 79.62 strokes through eight rounds. Her top performance of the fall was at the UNM/Dick McGuire Invitational, where was UW's second scorer and place in a tie for 61st overall. She shot 233 (+14) at the event, including a season-low 73 (+1). She was also UW's third scorer at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate with a 237 (+21) to tie for 27th.
2010-11 (Sophomore): Zamprelli played in nine of UW's 10 tournaments during the season. In 27 rounds of golf she averaged 79.1 strokes per round to finish in UW's top three five times. She shot her low score of the season twice, as she carded a 230 (+14) at both the UNLV Spring Invite and the Mountain West Conference Championship. Her top individual finish was 28th at at the MWC Championship, as she was UW's third scorer. She notched a career-best 71 (-1) in the second round of the CU/Heather Farr Memorial during the fall for the second-best round by a Cowgirl during the season. After the season, Zamprelli was named to the Academic All-MWC team. 2009-10 (Freshman): Zamprelli competed in nine events in her first year of playing Cowgirl golf. Her best tournament came at the Oregon State Memorial, where she finished 34th and had her best round of the season, 79(+7). She shot a 253(+37) in the MWC Championships. Zamprelli gained some valuable experience and should emerge as one of Wyoming's young threats. After the season, Zamprelli was named to the Academic All-MWC team. High School: While at Douglas County High School, she was a four-sport athlete, lettering twice in volleyball and basketball, once in swimming and all four years in golf. During her golf career, she led her team to the league championships twice, in 2006 and 2007, as well as the regional championship in 2007. The same year, Douglas County was the state runner-up for the 5A division. Zamprelli was a one-time first-team all-conference team member, and added a second-team selection in 2006-07. She also was named to the Colorado Junior Golf Association Academic All-Star team. Personal: Dana was born March 1 in Albuquerque, N.M., to her parents Debbie and Paul Zamprelli. She has one sister, Jenna, who is currently a senior on the Cowgirl golf squad. Dana is a nursing major. |
