She finished in UW's top three at three of the four events during the fall season, but played as an individual in three of her four events in the spring. In 21 rounds of action, she averaged 79.9 strokes per round. Her top performance of the season was a 150 (+6) at the weather-shortened Nevada Wolf Pack Classic in the fall. She tied for sixth place, for her first career top-10 finish. Zamprelli followed that with a 237 (+21) to tie for 27th at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate. She was also UW's third scorer at the UNM/Dick McGuire Invitational during the fall with a 236 (+17) to tie for 72nd. 2010-11 (Redshirt Junior): Zamprelli played in eight tournaments for the Cowgirls during the season, including all four tournaments in the fall. In 24 rounds of action she averaged 80.5 strokes per round to finish in UW's top four players four times. Zamprelli's low score of the season was a 230 (+14) at the Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic, as she opened the event with a career-best 72 (E) in the first round. Her highest finish was a tie for 26th at the Portland State/Oregon State Invitational during the fall, and she was the top Cowgirl at the event. Zamprelli was UW's fourth scorer at the Mountain West Conference Championship with a score of 235 (+19). After the season, Zamprelli was named to the Academic All-MWC team. 2009-10 (Junior): Zamprelli redshirted in her junior season to work on her mechanics. 2008-09 (Sophomore): During the fall season, Zamprelli was a consistent contributor for the Cowgirls as she participated in all five tournaments and has improved every time. Her highest finish came at the Bronco Fall Invite where she tied for 26th place and helped the team to its first team title in 10 years. She shot a season-best 73 (+1) at the CU/Heather Farr Memorial in Broomfield, Colo., as the team set the record for the lowest team tournament score with 891(+27) in Cowgirl history. After the season, Zamprelli was named to the Academic All-MWC team. 2007-08 (Freshman): Zamprelli gave the team some good rounds in her first year. Her national playing experience as a junior golfer made the transition to the collegiate level easier, as she showed off her ability as a solid ball-striker. Her best round of the fall was a 74 at the Ram Fall Classic. Zamprelli's top finish was 30th at the Bronco Fall Invitational. Her scores counted towards both the team's school record marks for single round and event total. During the spring season she participated in three of the seven tournaments and her highest finish was at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic where she shot a total 250(+34). High School: An accomplished junior golfer, Zamprelli placed in the top 10 for three years at the Colorado State High School 5A tournament, earning All-State honors each year. She also qualified for state as a freshman. Zamprelli was the 2007 Douglas County High School Female Athlete of the Year. She played in the 2006 U.S. Girls Junior Championship, the women's 2006 Colorado Open and placed seventh at the CWGA Junior Stroke Play Championship as a junior. Zamprelli qualified for the Junior World Championship in 2002. A four-year high school letterwinner in golf and swimming, she earned first team All-Conference honors three years in swimming. She holds four school swimming records at Douglas County and was the school's Most Valuable swimmer and golfer her senior year. She was a team captain for both teams as a senior and named Academic All-Conference all four years in both sports. Zamprelli earned varsity letters in golf and swimming as an eighth-grader in Rio Rancho, N.M., and qualified for the New Mexico 5A State Championships as an eighth-grader in golf and swimming and earned All-State honors in golf. Personal: Jenna is one of two children of Paul and Debbie Zamprelli and has a younger sister, Dana, who also plays for the Cowgirl golf team. Her father played football at New Mexico and her mother golfed for the Lobos. Jenna was born April 30 in Albuquerque, N.M. She is majoring in kinesiology & health promotion. |
