2005: Groy was a solid contributor to the midfield and defense as a true freshman as she played in 15 games and started one. She earned her first letter award. High School: Groy came to UW by way of Green Mountain High School where she was a teammate of fellow sophomore Amanda Lathrop. She was a four-time letterwinner in soccer and a four-time member of the Green Mountain Honor Roll. She was named First Team All-State Honorable Mention and was a Gatorade Award winner following her senior year. She was a member of the 5A conference championship team in 2002 and 2004. Green Mountain advanced to the state final in 2003, semifinals in 2004 and quarterfinals in 2002. Green Mountain won their conference in 2002 and 2004. She was named academic all-conference in 2004 and won academic letters in 2002, 2004 and 2005. She played club soccer for the Colorado Rush, which won five state championships.
