Assistant coach Kim Murphy enters her second season with the Cowgirl Soccer program. Prior to coming to Wyoming, Murphy served as Moore's assistant at East Tennessee State University for two seasons. Following graduation she served as a graduate assistant soccer coach at the University of Utah for a year and then went to East Tennessee State to coach under Moore. Murphy played collegiate soccer as a defender for N.C. State for four years, and her team's advanced to the NCAA Tournament three of those years. Her senior year, she helped lead N.C. State to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament. Murphy also possesses a United States Soccer Federation "C" coaching license, a National Soccer Coaches Association of America national diploma, and an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. She was actively involved in the Olympic Development Program in the state of Tennessee and played on a women's professional team, the Maryland Pride, from 1996-1999. A 1996 graduate of North Carolina State with an undergraduate degree in communications, she will complete her master's degree this summer in sports management from ETSU. She recently got engaged to Matt Whisenant, who is pursuing a doctorate degree in sports administration at Ohio State. |
