2006: Sheppard was the starting net minder for the Cowgirls in 2006 and carried a 6-5-1 record. Between the posts she made 87 saves while only giving up 14 goals for a 1.07 goals against average, the third best average in UW history. Sheppard had five shutouts, which has only happened two other times in Cowgirl history. She also excelled in the classroom and was named to the Academic All-Conference Team and also earned the MWC Scholar-Athlete Award. She earned her third letter award. 2005: Sheppard had a solid year in the Cowgirl net playing in 15 games and starting 12. She allowed just 1.05 goals a game (the second best GAA in a single season in UW history), made 68 saves and recorded four shutouts. She excelled academically and was named Academic All-Conference for the second consecutive year. She earned her second letter award at UW. 2004: As a true freshman, she recorded the best single season goals against average in Wyoming soccer history at the time, a 1.26. She started 17 games and recorded four shutouts while making 102 saves. She was named the MWC's Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 27 after recording a pair of shutouts as UW beat Northern Colorado 1-0 in double overtime and Cal State Fullerton 1-0 in the same week. She was named Academic All-MWC and earned her first letter award. High School: She was a four-time letterwinner in soccer as well as a four-time academic letterwinner at Highlands Ranch High School. She was a team captain three times as well as an All-State Honorable Mention selection her junior season. Personal: She was born November 16, 1985 in Sacramento, Calif. She is one of six children of Debi and Shawn Sheppard. She was also recruited by Pepperdine, Creighton and Oregon. She is majoring in elementary education. |
