The Cowgirl soccer team suffered their third straight loss Sunday as they fell to the Long Beach State 49ers 2-0. Wyoming falls to 4-6-0 while the 49ers improve to 7-4-0.

"We just ran out of steam today from all of the matches we have played lately," UW head coach Anne Moore said. The Cowgirls have played five games in ten days.

The 49ers got on the board early as junior Hayley Bolt scored in the third minute on a pass from junior Sahar Haghdan from 15 yards out. Long Beach State's second goal came in the second half as freshman Kristen Kiefer scored at the 56:32 mark, tallying a second Haghdan assist for the day.

"Long Beach was very skillful and possessed the ball really well against us," Moore continued. "We have played some tough teams lately, which was by design, so we could prepare ourselves for conference play."

Wyoming will look to break their current scoreless streak next week as they face the Northern Colorado Bears Friday, October 5 at 3 p.m. in the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex. The Cowgirls are 4-2 within the friendly confines of the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex and have outscored their opponents 13-6 at home.
