Laramie, Wyo. - The University of Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team lost its final Mountain West Conference game of the season 2-0 to 20th ranked Utah in Salt Lake City, Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Cowgirls finish with a MWC record of 4-2 and their overall record drops to 9-8.

Utah scored one goal in each half to claim the 2-0 win. Their first goal came at the 27:11 mark when Bobbie Benegas scored on an assist from Amanda Feight. Utah scored their second goal as Wyoming was making a late charge on offense. The goal came off Feight's foot, this time on an assist from Benegas at the 83:30 mark.

The Cowgirls struggled on offense and took just one shot in the match. Utah, on the other hand, rattled the Cowgirl goal tallying 22 shots. Cowgirl goalkeeper Lori Scheider finished with seven saves while Utah goalkeeper Ashley Mason got the win for the Utes making one save.

"We were a bit tired after playing BYU on Thursday and Utah was very fresh," said UW head coach Anne Moore. "We struggled getting stuff going offensively but our defense played very tough and made them take most of their shots from outside of the box. Lori came up with some big time saves to keep us in the game but Utah played tough defense and we couldn't really get much on offense."

The Cowgirls will close out the regular season with a non conference match-up with Denver next Sunday, Nov. 2. The Pioneers will travel to Laramie for a 1 pm start time at the UW Soccer Stadium.
