Cowgirl soccer gave a strong effort against 11th ranked Utah but came up short Friday night as they lost 2-0 in Salt Lake City. The Cowgirls fall to 2-3-2 in the MWC and 7-8-3 overall while Utah improves to 7-0-0 in the MWC and 14-4-3 overall.

Utah came out strong and put a lot of pressure on the Cowgirl defense early. The Utes took an early corner kick that bounced off a Cowgirl defender into the back of the net at the 19:55 mark.

The Utes didn't stop there as senior Amanda Feight got a breakaway pass from senior Hailey Marsh and took a beautiful shot from 20 yards out to score the second and final goal of the game at the 21:03 mark.

Wyoming now must get ready for the most important part of their season as they head back to Salt Lake City to compete for the Mountain West Conference Championship on Wednesday November 1. The Cowgirls will play in a quarterfinal game on Wednesday against a team yet to be named.
