LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team hosted two Denver University and Colorado College teams in a spring indoor tournament, Feb. 28 in the UW Fieldhouse. Each team played three games.

The first University of Wyoming team finished with one win and a pair of ties. They started the tournament with a 2-2 tie against Denver. Scoring goals were seniors Lindsey Vossbrink and Sarah Skinner. In their second match, the Cowgirls beat Colorado College 3-2, with two goals coming from senior Mari Gomes and one from Skinner. Finally, the Cowgirls tied the other Denver team 1-1 with Vossbrink tallying the goal.

The second Cowgirl team finished with a disappointing 0-3 record. They lost to Denver 1-2 in their first game, with former senior Tuva Gulbrandsen notching the lone goal. The other Denver team beat the Cowgirls 3-2 with goals coming from seniors Darci Ferrell and Meghan Racette. Finally, the Cowgirls lost to Colorado College 0-4.

The Cowgirl spring season continues this Saturday as the team travels to the Air Force Academy.
