Wyoming Earns Fourth Conference Win

JUNIOR (2011-12): Finished fall play with a 4-7 mark overall in singles play. She qualified for the Mountain Regional tournament and won her opening match against Juliette Lengendre of Nevada. Her doubles record was 5-6 with two different doubles partners, Sasa Nemcova and Jessica Parizher. During the spring, Kovacs went 10-12 in singles action and 14-19 overall for the year playing mostly at the number three position. Had a four match winning stretch to close out the year. In doubles action, her record was 17-15 overall with three different playing partners. She and Sasa Nemcova went 13-10 overall and 4-3 in league play with wins over Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State and TCU. They would have a five match winning streak during the spring. She currently ranks third in doubles victories (57) and tied for ninth in singles wins (54) in school history.

SOPHOMORE (2010-11): Went 7-5 in singles action during the fall including winning her last three matches. Played with two different doubles partners and finished with a 4-4 record overall. Qualified for the Mountain Regional Tournament and went 1-1. During the spring, she went 12-10 in dual play and 19-15 overall playing mainly at the number two position. She had a five match winning streak in non-conference play. In league action, she finished 4-4 overall with victories over Air Force, Colorado State, New Mexico and San Diego State. In doubles action, she had a 19-11 record while going 13-7 overall and 5-3 in MW play in the spring with partner Rebecca Berger. After a 3-3 start, they won seven of the next nine matches.

FRESHMAN (2009-10): An All-MW selection in her first season with the program. In singles play, she went 8-7 overall during the fall. She started off winning her first four of five matches. Earned her first college match victory against Hailey Swenson of Utah State, 6-3, 6-3. Went 4-2 overall at the Mountain Regional Tournament. Had an impressive 6-1 record in doubles play with partner Rebecca Berger winning their first six matches in a row. They went 2-1 overall and moved in to the round of 16 at the Mountain Regional Tournament. During the spring, she went 13-8 to finish 21-15 overall playing mainly at the number two position. In league play, she went 3-4 overall, which helped her earn All-MW honors. She won eight of nine matches at one point during the spring. In doubles action, she finished with a 21-8 overall record, while going 15-7 in the spring. She and partner Rebecca Berger finished 13-6 overall and 5-3 in league play. An Academic All-MW selection for the first time in her career.

HIGH SCHOOL: A top-ranked junior singles and doubles player over the past several years. Kovacs was ranked sixth in the nation in the Under 18 singles and a member of the national team. She was a finalist in the G3 ITF Doubles tournament and a semifinalist in several G3 ITF Singles tournaments.

PERSONAL: Born August 28, 1989 in Esztergom, Hungary. She is the daughter of Zoltan and Marianna Kovacs. Has two brothers Adam and Kristof. She is currently majoring in finance.
