This Season: One of two seniors on the squad. She has the ability to dicatate points and can play with anyone in the country. Should provide leadership to the team and look for her to have a solid season. Will continue her climb in the Cowgirl record book with 43 singles wins which is ninth overall. Had a good fall as she went 6-4 overall in singles play. Won her opening match in the main draw at the Central Regional Tournament over Erin Karions (Iowa State), before falling in three sets to Imke Reimers of Nebraska. With two different partners, she went 3-5 in doubles play during the fall.

Junior (2006-07): Had a strong outing for the Cowgirls during the fall finishing with a 6-5 singles record. Won four of her last five matches to finish the fall on a good note. Won her first two matches over Cithinia Saucedo (Utah) and Leslie Vial (Northern Arizona) in the main draw at the Central Regional Tournament to advance in to the field of 16. Also had a very strong showing in doubles play with partner Sarah Summerfield. Lazar and Summerfield finished with a 6-3 record together, which included a four match winning streak and a victory over the fourth ranked team of Santoro and Kuruc of Tulsa. In the spring, she went 5-12 in dual play, playing mainly at the second and third positions, and ended with an 11-17 record overall. In MWC play, she went 2-6 with victories over Karissa Walker (Air Force) and Nikol Dimitrova (UNLV). She earned Academic All-MWC and Scholar-Athlete honors for the third year in a row.

Sophomore (2005-06): Continued to make strides in her second season, Lazar went 5-4 during the fall in singles play, including a four match winning streak. She qualified for the Central Regional Tournament, winning her opening match against Andrea Barker of Utah State. Lazar posted a 3-4 mark in doubles action in the fall with three different partners. She posted a 4-5 mark in singles play in the spring in the number four and five positions. Went 3-7 in doubles action with fellow Cowgirl Amy Senko as the number two position. Lazar finshed out the year with an overall mark of 9-9 in singles matches and 6-13 in doubles play with four different partners. Lazar earned Academic All-MWC and MWC Scholar-Athlete honors for the second time in her career.

Freshman (2004-05): In the fall season, Lazar posted a solid 7-5 singles mark, which earned her a spot in the Central Regional Tournament qualifying round. Won her first opening match of the Central Regional Tournament against Jasmin Singh of Colorado State. Her first collegiate victory came against Jennifer Hatch of UNC-Charlotte (9/18/04). After starting off the spring 1-4, she went on a seven match winning streak. Ended the year with a 17-16 overall mark in singles play at the number two and three positions. Played with three different partners and went 9-23 in doubles play. She earned Academic All-MWC and Scholar Athlete honors in her first year.

High School: A two-time winner of the Litoral Cup in Girls 16 and 18 categories while attending the Constanta High School of Sports. During that time, she also placed second at the Holiday Cup, Summer Cup and Samtronic Club in several age groups. Over that year, she had been ranked as high as 32nd in the junior Romanian singles rankings for Girls 18. She chose Wyoming over several schools.

Personal: Corina is the daughter of Iulian and Nina Lazar. Born June 22, 1985 in Constanta, Romania. Majoring in journalism with a minor in marketing communications and spanish.
