The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team closed out their weekend, on Sunday, at the Washington State Cougar Classic in Pullman, Wash.

"I was pleased how strong we finished the weekend," said UW head coach Krissy Hall. "We have a few things that we can work on, but overall I was pleased with our play."

In singles play, senior Michelle Brown defeated fellow teammate Carolina Chaix in straight sets, 7-5, 6-5, to win the flight four singles. Also coming away with a victory was freshman Rebecca Berger who defeated Rebecca Bran of Montana, 6-2, 6-1, in the consolation finals. In flight three singles, Carly Van Hollen came up short 8-6 against Jessica Gomez of Washington State to finish fourth.

The Cowgirls will resume fall play, Oct. 10-12, at the Air Force Invitational in Colorado Springs.
