LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming tennis team had a rough day Thursday, the second day of action at the ITA Central Regional, held in Omaha, Neb.

Junior Sofi Espinosa was the only Cowgirl in the main singles draw, and she came up short to Jana Sedivec of Tulsa 6-2, 6-3. With the loss, Espinosa will continue play on Friday in the consolation round.

In doubles action, the Cowgirl team of Angela Dossetor and Espinosa lost their match to a team from Southwest Missouri State 8-4. They will return to action in the consolation round on Friday evening.

"We performed the best we could," said Wyoming head coach Pam Davis. "But obviously we were up against the best players in our region. It's a great competition and we fought hard."
