Susan Judge enters her fifth season as head volleyball coach at the University of Wyoming. She was named head coach on Aug. 5, 1996. Judge is Wyoming's ninth head volleyball coach.

In four years with the Wyoming Volleyball Program, Judge has posted an overall record of 58-64 and an 31-27 record in conference play. She has coached four All-Conference players in both the Western Athletic and Mountain West Conferences, including the 1998 WAC-Mountain Division Player of the Year and First Team selection Jami Laya, and First Team All-MWC selection Melody Friehauf last season.

"We lost some experience from a year ago," said Judge. "In turn, we enter the 2000 season with a lot of youth and inexperience, however our talent level is very strong. I think this is going to be a fun team to work with and watch."

Judge arrived in Laramie with some impressive credentials. Prior to joining the Cowgirl program, she was the head coach at Marshall University. During her time at MU, Judge posted a 37-32 mark, including a 25-11 record in 1995, a Southern Conference Tournament Championship and the school's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Judge, 31 (born Aug. 9, 1969), resurrected the Marshall volleyball program in just two seasons. She became head coach there in April of 1994. Prior to her guiding Marshall to a conference tournament title and NCAA appearance in '95, Marshall had not had a winning season since 1988 -- seven seasons. Judge earned Southern Conference Coach of the Year honors in '95 -- in only her second year as a Division I head coach.

Prior to becoming the head coach at Marshall, Judge served as an assistant at her alma mater, Mississippi State, for three seasons (1991-93). She was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and also played basketball at MSU. In 1989 and '90, she was named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll for volleyball. Judge completed a bachelor's degree in physical education in 1991, and added a master's degree in education and sports administration in 1994, earning both degrees from MSU.

Judge was married to her husband Larry in June of 1998.
