UW This Season: A returning three-year starter for the Cowgirls...earned First Team All-MWC honors for the first time in her career in 2003...the Cowgirls leading honors candidate this season...a definite offensive threat, she also has tremendous blocking skills...her leadership will be a big key in the Cowgirls success this season...an athlete who brings good size, strength and power.

Junior (2003): An All-Mountain West Conference Volleyball Team selection for the first time in her career...started in 30 matches and played in 108 games in 2003...was second on the team averaging 3.21 kills per game, along with adding 2.16 digs per game...was also second in blocks with 1.01 per game, which ranked 13th in the conference...hit .271 (347-135-782) for the season, which was third on the team and 14th in the MWC...recorded a season high 23 kills against BYU (10/24/03)...hit a season high .588 (11-1-17) in the victory over UNLV (10/4/03)...had a career high 22 digs and 11 assists against Florida International (9/13/03)...in that same match, she finished with 18 kills, 22 digs and 11 assists for the first triple-double of her career...recorded double-figures in kills in 19 of 30 matches, along with six double-doubles...was named the MVP of the Cowgirl Classic and to the All-Tournament Team at the Baylor and Jacksonville Classics...needs only ten kills to reach the 1,000 career kill mark as she currently ranks ninth in that category with 990...an Academic All-MWC selection for the first time in her career.

Sophomore (2002): Started in all 31 matches and played in 114 games during the season...finished first on the team and tenth in the conference in hitting percentage .283 (400-156-861)...averaged 1.13 blocks per game, which was also first on the team and tenth in the conference...recorded 400 kills (3.51 kpg), which was second on the team and eighth in the conference, along with 216 digs (1.89 dpg), which was fifth on the team...ranked 11th in blocks and kills in conference matches...finished with 24 service aces on the season...tallied a career high 26 kills and 52 attempts in the victory over Weber State (10/21/02)...also recorded a career high ten block assists and ten total blocks against Brigham Young (10/19/02)...hit .706 (13-1-17) in the victory over Auburn, which was her career high...recorded double-figures in kills 21 times, along with four double-doubles...earned MVP honors at the War Eagle Invitational, which earned her MWC Player of the Week honors for Sept. 16, 2002...also made the All-Tournament Teams at the Chippewa Classic and Islander Classic...was also named MWC Co-Player of the Week for Oct. 21...moved into 11th place on the Cowgirls' single-season list with 400 kills.

Freshman (2001): Started in all 24 matches as a true freshman...played in all 88 games during the year...made her first collegiate start against Cincinnati (8/31/01)...finished first on the team in digs (2.38 dpg), which ranked tenth in the conference, and third in kills with 243 (2.76 kpg)...was also second on the team and ninth in the conference in service aces with 29 (.33 sapg)...had a season high 17 kills against Denver (10/9/01), along with a season high 16 digs against Saint Mary's (9/22/01)...recorded double-figures in kills 14 times and ten times in digs during the season, along with nine double-doubles.

High School: A two-time First Team All-League selection in 1999 and 2000 at Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colo...was a Second Team All-State selection and Player of the Year in Douglas County as a senior...also earned Second Team and Honorable Mention All-League honors during her career...as a sophomore, she helped her team to a Continental Conference Championship...a four-year letterwinner in volleyball, she was coached in high school by Rob Graham and Matt Burrell...was on the principal's honor roll twice...was also recruited by several schools including the University of Texas and Wichita State, among others.

Personal: One of four children of Jose and Cindy Maytorena...born February 27, 1983 in Austin, Texas...majoring in elementary education.
