Sophomore (2011): Played in 27 matches and 101 sets, along with 25 starts this season...finished second on the team in blocks with 1.15 per set...also added 1.98 kills and 2.67 points, while hitting a team high .308 (200-56-467)...in conference matches, she averaged 1.78 kills and 1.02 blocks, while hitting .266 (103-36-252)...ranked fourth in blocks and eighth in hitting percentage in overall matches, while being ranked eighth in blocks in league matches...tied her career high with eight blocks against Colorado Christian (11/1/11)...had a career high seven digs and eight total blocks against UNLV (10/1/11)...finished with a career high 18 kills and 30 attempts while hitting .433 (18-5-30) against Boise State (9/22/11)...recorded her first double-figure match in kills with 13 against North Florida (9/16/11)...in that same match, she recorded four digs and three block solos...followed that up with ten kills and a .588 (10-0-17) hitting percentage against Texas A&M-CC (9/17/11)...tied her career high with eight blocks against Oregon State (8/26/11), while adding six kills and 24 attempts...hit a season high .750 (3-0-4) against Illinois State (9/9/11)...led the team 12 times in blocks...garnered Academic All-MW honors for the second year in a row.

Redshirt Freshman (2010): Started in all 32 matches while playing in 107 sets for the Cowgirls in her first full season...started in her first career match against Southern Utah (8/27/10)...recorded three kills and four block assists in that match...averaged 1.51 kills and 0.98 blocks per set...hit a team leading .280 (162-56-379)...in league matches, she added 1.60 kills, almost one block and a .288 (91-30-212) hitting percentage...ranked ninth in hitting percentage in overall matches and tenth in MW matches...hit a career high .833 (5-0-6) against TCU (10/16/10)...recorded her first double-figure match with a season high ten kills and 22 attempts against UNLV (10/7/10)...had a career high eight total blocks against Seattle (9/18/10)...recorded nine kills and hit .750 (9-0-12) against UT-Arlington (9/10/10)...had nine kills, plus five total blocks against Murray State (8/28/10)...led the team 14 times in blocks during the season...earned Academic All-Conference and Scholar Athlete honors.

Freshman (2009): Redshirted.

High School: An All-Conference selection, while attending Ridgeview High School...played volleyball at Fort Collins High School...during the 2008 season, her team won the Front Range Conference Championship with a 13-1 conference mark, while finishing 19-7 overall...was named the Front Range Volleyball Conference Player of the Year...was coached in high school by Lindsey Kerr...an excellent student, she was a member of the honor roll throughout high school...played club volleyball for the Norco Volleyball Club...in 2007, the team qualified for the Junior Nationals and placed 13th...her 17 black team placed third at the Rocky Mountain Regional, while she was named to the All-Star Team at the RMR Junior National Qualifier in 2008.

Personal: Full name Karise Elisabeth Plante...born November 29, 1990 in Laramie, Wyo...the daughter of Bruce and Jan Roehrkasse...she has four siblings...married Joe Plante, a current UW Track and Field Athlete, on July 4, 2011...her father, Bruce, and uncle, Lenny, both played basketball for the Cowboys, while her mother, Jan, was a letterwinner with the Cowgirl Volleyball Team from 1979-82...currently majoring in graphic design with a marketing communication minor.
