Lee Yerty, who is a 25 veteran of Division I Athletics, is set to begin his fourth year at the University of Wyoming. He joined the Cowgirl staff after spending 11 years at the University of Memphis as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He trained all sports including the Tiger volleyball program, and for two years he was the Director of Strength and Conditioning for eight Olympic Sports, which included men's and women's tennis, women's basketball, volleyball, men's and women's golf, cross country and women's soccer. During his time there, he also worked with men's basketball, baseball, football and track and field. He also served as an assistant for women's athletics where he was responsible for game management of the Tiger volleyball and Lady Tiger basketball squads.

Prior to Memphis, he served as the marketing director at Eastern Washington University for two years before being elevated to an assistant athletics director. He was in charge of marketing, fundraising, event management along with daily administrative planning and other functions. In 1995, he was an assistant volleyball coach for Pamela Parks at EWU.

From 1985-90, Yerty was both a graduate assistant and assistant strength and conditioning coach at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash. He was the assistant for football, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, volleyball, men's and women's track and men's and women's tennis, along with assisting all other sports.

Yerty earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science in 1986 and his master's degree in education administration in 1988 both from Washington State University. A member of the Washington State football team (1983-85), he was also a First Team All-State athlete in football and pole vault in the state of Washington. A native of Naches, Wash., Yerty and his wife, Carrie, have three sons WesLee (12), Jace (8), and Cade (3).
