Laramie, Wyo. -- The Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball Team (8-13 overall and 3-9 in the MWC) fell in three games to the eighth ranked Colorado State Rams (21-1 overall and 11-1 in the MWC), 30-20, 30-22 and 30-20, on Tuesday night in Laramie.

Colorado State had three players in double-figures, including senior Angela Knopf. She finished the night with a team leading 14 kills and .684 hitting percentage. As a team, the Rams hit .355 (56-17-110), while notching 12 total team blocks.

Senior Rachel Lau continues her hot hitting, as she led the Cowgirls with 11 kills and a .346 (11-2-26) hitting percentage. Unfortunately, Wyoming struggled hitting only .099 (31-21-101) on the evening, along with recording only four total team blocks.

"I feel a lot better than I did the last time we played Colorado State," said head coach Susan Steadman. "I thought we competed well tonight and gave a really good effort. It was nice to see them putting in subs to correct their mistakes, instead of putting in subs because they were beating us. We did some really good things, unfortunately some of our numbers weren't very promising. Rachel Lau continues to perform like an upperclassman, and really had a good match. I'm proud of how she is playing and closing out her senior campaign on a good note. We still need to have consistency from certain players on the floor, and we're still looking for those young kids to step up and be reliable. "

The Cowgirls will close out the regular conference season this weekend at home. They will host New Mexico on Friday night and the Air Force Academy on Saturday night, before heading into next weeks conference tournament.
