Mark McCloskey Hired As Cowgirl Volleyball Assistant Coach

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming head volleyball coach Susan Judge announced today the hiring of Mark McCloskey as an assistant coach with the Cowgirl volleyball program. His hiring is subject to UW Board of Trustee approval.

Mark McCloskey comes to Wyoming from the University of Northern Colorado, where he was an assistant coach for the past year. He joined the UNC staff in 1999, after serving as the interim head coach at Embry-Riddle University in Prescott, Ariz. Prior to being named interim head coach, he served as an assistant coach with the school since 1997. McCloskey also served as the director of the Yavapai Juniors Volleyball Club. The juniors program involved 140 girls ranging in age from 10-18.

As an undergraduate at the University of South Carolina, he served as a student assistant/manger for the volleyball program. McCloskey earned his degree in history/secondary education from South Carolina in 1997.

"I'm very excited about Mark joining the coaching staff. I've known him for a while, and feel like he'll be a great addition to our program," said head coach Susan Judge. "He is familiar with the western region and the recruiting involved, and where the club and high school programs that exist. He'll fit very well into our recruiting coordinator position, based on his previous coaching experience."
