Aug. 9, 2001 LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball Team and head coach Susan Steadman will officially open up fall drills for the upcoming season on Friday, August 10th. The Cowgirls will have their first practice on Friday morning from 9-10:45 a.m., and then in the afternoon from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Both practices will take place in the MultiPurpose Gym. Head coach Susan Steadman, who is entering her sixth season at UW, is excited about the upcoming season. "I am extremely anxious to start practice," said Steadman. "It's a time when the upperclassmen see the fruits of their labor and investment into the program. I'm also excited to see what our newcomers will add to the program." Wyoming returns four starters and eight letterwinners from last year's team that went 10-22 overall and 2-12 in the conference. They also welcome six newcomers to this year's squad. The Cowgirls will open up the 2001 season on the road at the Golden
Gate Classic, in San Francisco, Calif., on August 31 and Sept. 1. They
will play their first home matches on Sept. 7-8, when they host the
Cowgirl Classic, in Laramie. The Cowgirls schedule includes six home
non-conference matches and seven conference match-ups.
