LARAMIE, Wyo. -

In their final home match of the regular season, the Wyoming volleyball team will welcome the ninth ranked Colorado State Rams, on Friday night, in Laramie beginning at 7:00 p.m. It will also be the final home match for seniors Amy Doman, Vanessa Latimer, Sara Maytorena and Jill Roslund.

With a 1-1 record over the weekend, the Cowgirls come into this match with a 13-10 overall mark and a 6-5 record in the conference. Freshman Rachel Smith has been one of the top players for the Cowgirls averaging 3.32 kills and 2.22 digs per game. As a team, they are averaging 15.60 kills and 13.25 digs per game, while out hitting their opponents .267 to .233.

The Rams enter the week with a record of 19-2 overall, a 10-1 mark in the MWC, and are ranked ninth in the AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. CSU is currently hitting .299 (1236-426-2705) per match and averaging 3.07 blocks per game. They are led by senior Katie Shirley-Cahoon, who is averaging 3.16 kills, 1.94 digs and 1.26 blocks per game.

This will be the 58th meeting between the two schools as the Rams lead the series 38-18. The last time the two teams met was Oct. 8, 2004 in Ft. Collins when CSU defeated the Cowgirls, 3-0.

Ticket prices for single matches are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children or students without a Student ID. All Wyoming students will be allowed free admission with their UW Student ID.
